- Preheat your air fryer to 200°C (390°F) to get it ready for crispy green beans.
- Trim the ends of the green beans and give them a thorough rinse under cold water. Pat them dry or let them air dry for a few minutes.
- In a large bowl, toss the green beans with olive oil, salt, pepper, and smoked paprika or chili flakes if using. Make sure each bean is lightly coated with oil and seasoning.
- Arrange the seasoned green beans in a single layer inside the air fryer basket. Avoid overcrowding to ensure even crisping.
- Cook for 8 to 10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to promote even cooking. You'll hear a gentle sizzling and see the beans start to develop slight charring.
- Check the beans: they should be bright green with crispy, slightly charred edges. If they need more crispness, cook for an additional 2 minutes.
- Transfer the crispy green beans to a serving bowl. Squeeze fresh lemon juice over them or sprinkle with grated Parmesan for extra flavor.
- Serve immediately while hot and crispy, enjoying the vibrant color and satisfying crunch.
Notes
For extra flavor, toss the beans with garlic powder or additional spices before cooking. Adjust cook time based on bean size and desired crispiness.
